Legacy is a zine illustrating the vibrant communities of London and their collaboration with AgeUK. Our goal is to showcase some of the exciting local businesses created by long-standing members of these communities to provide a platform and media presence accessible to all.
Each issue features a physical map of the borough explored as well as highlights must-see landmarks. For easier accessibility, a QR code to an interactive version of each of the maps are available on Google Maps. Legacy shares compelling and authentic stories from the older generations in these areas, where we reveal their personal experiences and perspectives on how they feel represented in media.
The first issue, focusing on the London Borough of Camden, features stories of small business owners around Camden Market, interviews with elderly models to walk for the fashion show hosted by Age UK Camden, and conversations with Camden’s Hatton Garden community where we discussed ageism, representation of age in media, and how exactly can we redesign an age-inclusive future.
